National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted Federal Polytechnic Ayede approval to commence eight more National Diploma (ND) programmes.
This is consequent upon the resources’ inspection exercise carried out by the NBTE between December 27 and December 30, 2023.
In a statement by the institution’s protocols and public relations officer, Sunday Adepoju, said the approved ND programmes, according to a letter dated January 17, 2024, by the NBTE executive secretary, Prof. Idris Bugaje, to the rector of the institution, Engr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed, are
- Accountancy
- Agricultural Technology
- Business Administration and Management
- Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology
- Estate Management and Valuation
- Public Administration
- Tourism Management Technology
- Urban and Regional Planning
The institution said admission was in progress in all the 12 ND programmes which are:
- Accountancy
- Agricultural Technology
- Business Administration and Management
- Computer Engineering Technology
- Computer Science
- Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology
- Estate Management and Valuation
- Public Administration
- Science Laboratory Technology
- Statistics
- Tourism Management Technology
- Urban and Regional Planning
Abdul-Hameed thanked the NBTE, the management, academic board and the polytechnic community for their relentless effort towards achieving the approval of the programmes.
He said, “The approval from NBTE serves as a testament to the Institution’s commitment to providing high-quality technical education in these crucial fields. The commencement of these ND programmes aligns with the Polytechnic’s vision of being a world class institution for innovative and technical education reputed for adding value to human development through enterprising and innovative graduates.
“The Institution believes that the addition of these new ND programmes will further enhance the educational experience of the students and contribute to the development of skilled professionals in various technical and managerial fields, thereby supporting the nation’s socio-economic development agenda.”
