The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunke Abdul-Hameed, in the spirit of unity and joy, joined Muslim staff, students and the Polytechnic community in celebrating the joyous Eid-el-Fitr festival.

As Muslims around the world mark the end of Ramadan, Engr. Dr. Abdul-Hameed extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone in the Polytechnic community, the various stakeholders and the visitor of the institution, President Bola Tinubu.

The Iwo-born scholar and administrator urged Muslims across the country to imbibe the spirit of self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, adding that it is incumbent on Muslims to exhibit the spirit of generosity and compulsory charity.

Dr Abdul-Hameed expressed his joy in celebrating this special time with the staff and students, emphasizing the importance of unity, compassion and understanding among all members of the Polytechnic community.

He highlighted the significance of Eid-el-Fitr as a time of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the values of peace and togetherness.

"I am delighted to share in the celebrations of Eid-el-Fitr with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Polytechnic community and, even, beyond.

“This festive occasion reminds us of the importance of faith, unity, and solidarity. As we come together to celebrate the end of Ramadan, let us reaffirm our dedication to learning, growth, and mutual respect," said Dr Abdul-Hameed.

, Abdul-Hameed said, “The period of Ramadan has afforded Muslims the opportunity of holiness which is expected to continue even after Ramadan.

“I charge you all to remain holy and continue supporting the government of the day in prayers.

“Once again, I congratulate all Muslim ummah, the entire Nigerians and Muslims across the globe on this great celebration."
