The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Dr.Taofeek Abdul-Hameed, has promised the staff of the institution more support and welfare while also congratulating them and the entire Nigerian workforce on the occasion of this year's Workers' Day celebration.
In a statement signed by the institution's Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Sunday Adepoju, Dr.Abdul Hameed, who applauded the effort of the staff in the progress of the institution, expressed the determination of the management to ensure that the staff enjoy good welfare packages, including training and conferences, both locally and internationally.
These, Dr. Abdul-Hameed said, are aimed at widening the scope of their knowledge and experience for optimal performance in the discharge of their duties.
He charged the staff to remain committed to their duties as important stakeholders in the progress of the institution.
"The successes recorded so far in the institution would not have been made possible without the great contributions of the hardworking and efficient staff that we are blessed with.
"Therefore, on behalf of the management, I congratulate our workers and wish them success in the assignment of taking the polytechnic to greater heights," the statement read in part.
The astute scholar also congratulated the Nigerian workers on this great day, saying that the workers are the engine room of any government across the globe.
Abdul-Hameed, in the statement, added that the Nigerian workers form an integral part of the progress of the country, particularly the Renewed Hope agenda of the Federal Government.
Abdul-Hameed said, "May Day, Labour Day or Workers' Day is a day set aside globally to celebrate workers as an important part of any country's development.
"So, on behalf of the management, staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, I sincerely felicitate the entire staff of our institution, Nigerian workers and workers across the world on this year's Workers' Day. Wishing you all wonderful celebration.
