1.0 PROFILE IN BRIEF
Dr. Olumuyiwa Arowosafe is an Industrial Technology major specialized in Education Human Resource Development by training, a technocrat and an astute politician. He is an expert in rural economic development, youths’ skills development and employability, an outstanding administrator with verse experience in workforce development and programs strategic planning. Additionally, Dr. Arowosafe is very knowledgeable in education research design and community sustainable development. He possesses a Strong diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse groups and individuals. Professionally, he has applied qualities of integrity, credibility, and passion for progress to strategic governance efforts in America Universities. These he determined to use to enormously contribute to the promising efforts of the newly built outstanding team of governing council and management of Federal Polytechnic Ayede’s determination to lead the young institution to a competitive and world first class institution
Dr. Arowosafe completed and earned his PhD degree at Texas A&M University, College Station Texas. He conducted his award winning dissertation research on integration of technology education into general education in developing nations with Nigeria as the case study, a stepping stone for his understanding the pros and cons of the Nigeria workforce dilemma and training need profile. Since then his work has focused on collaborative research, technology transfer and dissemination, and community based model development. Dr. Arowosafe worked on several USAID and World Bank funded agricultural and education programs in America Universities. His work and project activities focused on Africa, and South America which include; Haiti, Malawi, Peru, Egypt, Cameroon, Botswana, and Nigeria. In the process, he gained extensive agricultural and education research and development experience. These exposures helped him to master the major miscellaneous political and socioeconomic problems in developing nations including Nigeria.
1.1 CAREER PROGRESSION
Dr. Arowosafe has equally served on various university statutory and ad hoc committees in America Universities that included; Appointment and Promotions Committee, Member of Texas Educators, Chairman International Committee of Historic Black Colleges and Universities. He also served as the University Director of Industrial Technology Program, Executive Director of Center for Teaching Excellence & Distance Learning, Faculty Professional Development Center at Prairie ViewA&M University, Florida A&M University, Florida State University and Texas A&M University. In addition, as an Assistant Professor and Director of Career & Technology Program, Dr. Arowosafe served as a member of Texas Educators and the Coordinator of Texas Trade Training program for Southern, Texas.
Dr. Arowosafe was born and raised in Ikere-Ekiti Southwest Nigeria, attended local schools, and graduated from African Church Comprehensive High School (ACCHS). He was the pioneer Senior Prefect of (ACCHS) Ikere. Considering his leadership skills, he was retained as Assistant Agriculture Master after his school certificate. He later proceeded to the United States of America to pursue his education where he earned B.S. in Animal Science, BS in Marketing, and MBA in Business Administration at Lincoln University, Jefferson City Missouri. Additionally, he earned MEd in Agriculture Education from Florida A&M University and Ed.S in Research and Evaluation from Florida State University, Tallahassee Florida. His passion for research and development motivated him to pursue his PhD in Industrial Technology Specialized in Education Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University, College Station Texas. He lives in Houston Texas USA.
